The melting of metals with induction heating is a widely used method nowadays.
In this process the inductor surrounds the melting container, excitation runs through the wall of the container toward the work piece or the graphite susceptor (when melting metals that are good conductors). The use of this technology is multi-faceted, and can be adjusted to the size of the material, the size of the insert, the characteristics of the material, the desired purity and how much we want to reduce power consumption.
Induction heating can be done in a vacuum, in a protective gas atmosphere, or using a gravitational, under pressure or centrifugal furnace.
The technology is power efficient, fast, easy to control and environmentally friendly.
These machines are suitable for melting non-ferrous metals.
They are built for continuous operation and are controlled by a PLC unit. Heating can be controlled either manually or automatically. The machine can be manufactured with different size containers so the melting of 3-50 kilograms of non-ferrous metals can be carried out in one batch.
The mains supply of the machine is connected to the melting container with a water cooled cable. Draining is done by tilting the container.
Main data on melting: 1-2 kg/minute
Maximum melt temperature: 1400°C
Our company has been manufacturing induction metal casting machines to be used in laboratories for two decades now. The development of previous models of the ICG-61 was inspired by the need fueled by the rapid development of Hungarian dental technology.
The well-established base model was supplemented by a few additional functions to enhance quality and safety, including a microprocessor controlled heat regulator unit and a protective gas system using argon, as well as a furnace capable of melting 50-70 grams, adjustable for each batch.
Our goal was to develop and manufacture a model that is free of superfluous accessories and may be operated easily and safely. We placed special emphasis on ensuring excellent results, not only in everyday casting tasks, but in extraordinary circumstances as well (e.g. using special metals, casting extra small or extra-large sizes, casting structures with thin walls).
Owing to the reliable cooling system of the machine, it can be used almost continuously without limiting the number of batches. Safety functions protect the machine in the event of unintended use or in case of power supply and cooling malfunctions, so damages resulting from such problems can be avoided. All parts subject to intense wear and tear are extra robust so the lifetime of the machine is extremely long. Malfunctions can be quickly repaired owing to the clear structure and build of the machine and the high compatibility of spare parts.
The heating unit is a high frequency industrial generator highly suitable for the efficient and fast heating of all dental alloys (except for titanium). Heating power can be adjusted steplessly. The machine is well protected against injuries and blockage of the heating coil and against overload.
The speedy transportation of melted metal into the cast is ensured by the fast acceleration and optimal end speed of the centrifuge. Owing to its large dead weight and precise and sturdy build, the mechanical unit runs very steady resulting in solid, homogeneous casts free of gas bubbles. The machine can be equipped with a start torque and speed regulator. The container is received on a ceramic plate and two types of containers can be used (for 50 and 70 grams of metal). The casting mold halves can be adjusted steplessly both diagonally and lengthwise. The mold is fixed within the machine so it cannot move out of place when the centrifuge is started. Balancing can be adjusted manually, steplessly and can be set in advance. The heating coil is protected from damages caused by being lifted into the wrong position by a mechanical lock.
